Tahquamenon Falls State Park
The Upper Tahquamenon Falls is Located in northern Luce County, Michigan, and the Lower Falls is located just 5 miles downstream in Chippewa County. Known as one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, the Upper Tahquamenon spills approximately 3 million gallons of water per minute during peak flow times, and measures 50' high and 200' wide. But you don't need to know all of that to enjoy it's magnificent beauty. As any outdoors person knows, a mere picture can't compare to actually being there, but see the short video at left on YouTube to get a glimpse of the Upper Tahquamenon in action.
The Lower Falls while not as majestic as the Upper, is very tranquil and picturesque. A modern campground is also located at the Lower Falls.
